Excited to share insights from the Citi Global Insights report on Quantum Computing published yesterday, with contributions from the CFT's Deeph Chana. Many thanks to the whole CitiGPS team Tahmid Quddus IslamRob Garlick Ronit Ghose for their hard work in bringing this emerging technology to the fore.

💡 Quantum computing is no longer just the "next big thing": it's here and it's defining our future. Having passed the stage of quantum supremacy, we're gearing up for commercial quantum advantage - where quantum computers will be able to solve practical complex problems faster than their classical counterparts.

👥 As nation-states, corporations, and market participants, we must prepare and adapt to this new era. The first step is raising awareness and education about this groundbreaking technology.

🚀 Quantum computers are expected to revolutionise several areas:
1. Optimisation
2. Machine Learning
3. Simulation
4. Cryptography

💼 Industries like manufacturing, logistics, AI, healthcare, renewable energy, and finance are predicted to gain significant benefits. But we must also be mindful of the risks, particularly in cybersecurity.

🎯 As advances continue, it's vital for governments, organisations, and individuals to understand the implications, to adapt, innovate and, more importantly, to invest in research and development, talent, and enhanced cybersecurity measures.
