An image of the Moon's surface with open space in the background.

Join Dr Helen Sharman, Britain’s first astronaut and host of the Zero Pressure podcast, for an expert panel at Imperial Lates exploring how humans might live and work on the Moon.

Imperial Lates: Ready for a free night of cosmic wonders and celestial revelry? Join us for an enchanting evening where the wonders of the universe come to South Kensington. From driving mars rovers and building lunar bases to icy moon cocktails, intergalactic art and extra-terrestrial Xmas decorations – this promises to be an out-of-this-world evening of discovery with our Imperial space scientists.

Programme highlights:

  • Join our expert panel hosted by Britain’s first astronaut Helen Sharman on how humans might live and work on the Moon
  • Watch an award-winning improvised comedy group perform shows inspired by space science
  • Send a festive song across our model solar system with researchers developing microwave lasers for interplanetary communications
  • Get creative at our workshop where you can decorate intergalactic ornaments for your Christmas tree
  • Step onto Mars inside our unique display where you’ll discover new science from the Curiosity Rover

Throw in junkyard astronaut suits, mince pies, live meteorite impacts, and a DJ not scared to play the odd Christmas classic and we are expecting a great evening of universal entertainment.

Drop-in anytime between 6-9pm.
