BIO
My research is primarily focused on the design, development and application of Scanning Ion Conductance Microscopy in combination with other scanning probe and live imaging techniques to a wide range of biological studies. I introduce latest technological advances to ion conductance microscopy and push its performance to the limits aiming to create powerful and versatile technique that can answer questions currently cannot be addressed by other methods. Recent improvements in resolving power and imaging rate have played a pivotal role and made it possible to directly image endo- and exocytosis in living cells. This now opens a possibility for detailed live studies of such important process as receptor cycling, hormone secretion, drug delivery and infection.
