The London e-Science Centre (LeSC) at Imperial College London is active in a range of collaborative research, supporting scientists across several domains and developing new technology to make effective use of large-scale and data-intensive computing technologies. Since its founding in 2001, as one of the regional centres under the EPSRC-funded Core Technology programme in the national e-Science initiative, LeSC has been involved in a number of research projects supported by a range of funding bodies.
With the recent appointment of four Co-directors representing the key application areas of Public Health and Primary Care, High Energy Physics, Bioinformatics and Transport, the Centre continues to support and promote the use of parallel and high-performance computing in a wide variety of application areas. We very much look forward to furthering these endeavours as part of our work in a challenging and rapidly evolving technical environment.
