This project investigates the critical role of synchronised motoneuron activation in achieving fast movements, essential for survival and sports performance. It investigates a 'I-E' activation scheme—initial inhibition followed by excitation—to enhance synchronisation and movement speed. Through advanced recording techniques in humans and monkeys, the project aims to unravel the neural underpinnings of rapid movements. The findings could offer new insights into motor control, improve athletic performance, and aid rehabilitation in individuals with motor system impairments.
