The Design and Editorial team are an in-house creative services department. We provide creative design and editorial solutions for Imperial events and departments. We work with creative agencies, freelance designers, writers, editors and photographers, and can provide guidance on external suppliers for your work.  

Our Editorial team are expert writers, editors, proofreaders and tone of voice specialists who can craft messages to help you achieve your aims. Our Design team can help your message come to life using Imperial’s visual identity and their own creative ideas. Our Photography team are responsible for photography, image sourcing and application and the management of the university’s Asset Library.

  • Design: producing print and digital publications or material for events, campaigns and other initiatives and using the university’s visual identity guidelines 
  • Editorial: writing on behalf of the university, including guidance on our verbal identity, writing style, messaging and tone of voice 
  • Photography: commissioning photography, best practice in photography, including permissions, consent and PPE and finding images on the Asset Library 
  • Working with creative suppliers: choosing external design, creative, writing, editorial and photography suppliers, writing effective briefs and managing projects with creative suppliers
