When incidents occur that require the emergency services to attend site, or that require the injured person to attend hospital, the Principal Contractor (PC) will inform the client’s Head of Health and Safety by telephone, as soon as possible after the injured person has been treated on site.
The PC will then forward an interim report to the Project Manager, within 24 hours of the incident occurring. A full report, including a lessons learnt section, should be provided to the PM as soon as is practicable, after the incident has been fully investigated and all the facts are known.
Should the injured person be absent from work for more than seven days, the HSE must be notified under the provisions of the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR).
