Why study Medicine at Imperial?

Imperial is ranked 4th in the world for the clinical and health subject area by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2023, and 4th in the UK for medicine by the Guardian University Guide 2023.

Science

You will experience traditional and innovative teaching with a strong scientific emphasis throughout your programme. This will help develop your skills in research techniques and methodology, and your ability to apply evidence-based medicine wherever you practice.

Multi-disciplinary teaching throughout your degree

You will have direct contact with patients from the first term, and experience teaching from a multi-disciplinary workforce across London and beyond Dual qualification. Students on the six-year undergraduate programme obtain a BSc in addition to their MBBS.

Community

You will become part of a thriving community, both academically and socially, through the dedicated Imperial College School of Medicine Students’ Union.

Graduate programme

We have a new Graduate Medicine course in partnership with the University of Cumbria, with the first cohort starting in October 2025. Details of the course, entry requirements and selection process can be found on our Medicine Graduate Entry page, with further information available on the University of Cumbria website. Please note this degree is for Home students only and located entirely in Cumbria.
