Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is a global health and development threat. In line with the international effort to contain antimicrobial resistant infections of humans and animals, there has been a call for research to inform the development of strategies to limit environmental contamination by antimicrobial waste from pharmaceutical manufacturing.

As part of our activities for the India-UK programme, AMRWATCH has produced a briefing paper outlining current evidence and knowledge gaps on the issue, with a focus on India where the role of antimicrobial manufacturing pollution is particularly pertinent.
