The Composites for Energy Infrastructure Group (FRP4EI) is dedicated to transformative research in composite materials and technologies, aiming to enable the new generation of energy infrastructures to achieve Net Zero. It is imperative to embrace renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, tidal, geothermal, nuclear, and hydrogen, but existing fossil fuel infrastructures fall short of meeting the sustainable demands of future generations. Novel materials with exceptional performance metrics are the key for the green infrastructure transit. The group aims at becoming a world leading research centre, driving forward innovative solutions for the next generation energy infrastructure through interdisciplinary research on material science, chemistry, mechanics, AI & modelling.
The group is always open for research collaborations, and invite new ideas and suggestions and keen to cooperate with researchers in academia and industrial partners. Please find out more about PhD and Postdoc opportunities and our facilities for collaboration.
