iDSL focuses on the design of high-performance and energy-efficient digital systems targeting mainly the areas of machine learning and computer vision. Core to our research work is the coupling of the algorithmic design and the design of the digital system in order to expose the hardware platform characteristics to the algorithm, but also to guide the hardware architecture design through the characteristics of the algorithm. Our group has activity in the application domain, by considering efficient mappings of specific applications to reconfigurable devices and other processors, as well as on the design of toolflows for the automatic and efficient mapping of algorithms to hardware, and the design of hardware architectures for a class of problems.
iDSL is part of the Circuits and Systems research group, in the EEE Department of Imperial College London, and has strong collaborations with other members of the CAS group that work in the similar area of research.
