G. Sena visited the group of Prof. Laszlo Bogre at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he will present an informal talk titled "Imaging and modeling Arabidopsis root regeneration".

Master student.
Alexandra Hanna Ougolnikova is joining the Lab for her first rotation towards the MRes. Molecular Plant and Microbial Sciences.
Her project will study the effects of applied electric fields on root regeneration.

The conference "Physics of Emergent Behaviour", co-organised by G. Sena and R.Endres with the help of the Institute of Physics, took place on 24-26 June in Brighton, UK.
It has been a great success , we learned a lot and made new friends across disciplines!
Ph.D. student.
After an extensive selection process, the Lab's
BBSRC DTP Studentship has been offered to Nicolas Kral, who is currently finishing his M.Res. in Systems and Synthetic Biology here at Imperial.
As part of his Studentship, Nicolas will start a new Master in October 2013, and join the Lab in October 2014 to work on a project studying root regeneration through light sheet microscopy.

B.Sc. Final Year Projects.
Rosalind Elsmore and Kathrin Seeger, both Biology undergraduate students, are joining the Lab for their final year projects. Rosalind will develop a n experimental pro j ect on mor phometrics analysis of Arabidopsis root regeneration. Kathrin will study in the literature the link between environmental cues and regeneration.
Departmental Open Day.
The Department of Life Sciences organizes an Open Dayfor perspective Biology undergraduate students. This gives a chance to students who have been offered admission by the Department to familiarize with current research and learning opportunities.
