Dr Long Chen, PhD, BEng, MCIOB, A.M.ASCE, is currently a Lecturer at School of Architecture Building and Civil Engineering, Loughborough University.
He joined the Centre for Systems Engineering and Innovation (CSEI), Imperial College London as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in November 2018, working with Prof. Jennifer Whyte on the CDBB funded project ‘Analysing Systems Interdependencies using a Digital Twin’ and the Alan Turing Institute (ATI)/Lloyd’s Register Foundation Data-Centric Engineering Programme, ‘Grand Challenge III: Data-Driven Design Under Uncertainty’. During the period of working at CSEI/ATI, he has developed a digital twin-driven approach for design change management in complex systems and extended the image-based digital twinning approach for as-built buildings, based on which he published a research report and multiple peer-reviewed papers on journals and conferences.
The experience at CSEI is quite important and valuable journey for Long Chen, where he worked closely with UK industry and academia and stepped forward to be a Lecturer at Loughborough University. What is most important is that he has gained good friendships with other colleagues at CSEI and Imperial and established a close collaboration with CSEI and ATI.'
