Project title: Exciton Dynamics in Two-Dimensional Materials
Supervisors: Johannes Lischner
Project description:
The aim of this project is to develop material-specific techniques for studying the ultrafast dynamics of excitons in two-dimensional materials. To achieve this, we will combine a treatment of the exciton dynamics based on non-equilibrium Green's function theory or the semiconductor Bloch equations with first-principles derived tight-binding models. We will use these techniques to explain pump-probe experiments on transition-metal dichalcogenide monolayers and related materials.
