How do I apply?

To apply, visit our jobs website  and search for Graduate Finance Analyst.

Please ensure that you make it clear on your application how you meet the essential criteria.

Can I apply with my CV?

No. All applications must be submitted using the relevant application form, that can be completed on the College website. CVs will not be considered and applicants who have submitted only their CV will be automatically rejected. Refer to the Jobs webpage and search for Graduate Finance Analyst.

What are the minimum entry requirements?
  • A 2.1 in an undergraduate degree
  • An A- Level of equivalent in Mathematics if you degree is not in a numerate subject (Grade B or above)
  • A minimum of 128 UCAS points under the new tariff
  • Grade 4-9 (A*-C) at GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Do I need a finance-related degree?

No. We employ graduates from a wide range of undergraduate degrees.

What if I have extenuating circumstances for my results?

You should provide further details and upload any supporting information on the application form. We will assess your application in full, taking any extenuating circumstances into account.

What if I studied abroad and or/have international qualifications equivalent to A-Levels, Undergraduate Degree?

Please make it clear on your application how your results equate to A-Levels, Undergraduate Degree.

Can the College apply for a visa for this post?

No. Unfortunately, the College is unable to apply for a certificate of sponsorship for this post.  Applicants who do not have permission to work in England would need to obtain permission through an alternative immigration route/(s) for the period of the programme. Applicants  would need to provide evidence of their right to work in England or how they will obtain a visa for the programme as part of their application.

Can I apply if I haven't studied at Imperial?

Yes. All graduates are eligible to apply for the Graduate Training Scheme irrespective of where they have studied. You are not required to have studied at Imperial previously. 

Can I apply with a lower second-class (2:2) degree?

No. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications we receive each year, we are only able to accept applications from candidates who have achieved a minimum 2:1 at bachelor's level.

Can I apply if I am graduating with a Master's degree or a PhD?

Yes. You are eligible to apply if you have graduated with a Master's degree or a PhD.  However, even if you have a higher degree, you must still have a 2:1 at Bachelor's level to be eligible for the scheme.

Is this scheme competitive?

Yes. The finance scheme is always highly oversubscribed and generally we only hire 1 or 2 each year. Last year we received more than 200 applications.

Due to the nature of this role we will be shortlisting candidate as applications are received. We therefore reserve the right to close this vacancy as soon as a suitable candidate has been appointed. It is therefore advisable that you submit your application as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Will I received feedback on my application if I am unsuccessful?

Unfortunately given the high volume of applications we receive, it’s not possible for us to provide specific feedback to each candidate. You will however be notified of the outcome of your application.

Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)

With effect from 21 May 2021, any individual who will be undertaking research activities, at PhD level or above, in one of the Academic Subjects/Fields of Research relevant to ATAS will be required to obtain a free of charge ATAS certificate before they can apply for a visa to work in the UK. This will include research, academic, engineering and technician staff applying for Skilled Worker visas. Some exemptions apply.
