The new Flexible Content Block is designed to allow you to mix and match elements from some of the current standalone content types.
The benefits of using the Flexible Content Block include:
- You can reorder the items without having to redo the whole content type
- You can add or remove items and it will automatically adjust the layout depending on the number of items
- You can choose the dark or light theme for individual items (where themes are available)
- You can control the sequence of items
- You can combine different types of items in a single row
- You can add extra items quickly and easily
Combining different types of content items
You have the option to choose the type of content items you want to go into a single row. For example, you can add a Flexible item - Column block, a Flexible item - Column colour block (dark theme), and a Flexible item - General content block (dark theme) into a single row. Remember you can re-order these items in whichever configuration you prefer.

Changing the background theme of individual content items
With the Flexible item - Column colour block, you have the option to specify the background theme of individual items in whichever sequence you want.
In the example below all the items can have the dark theme selected.
3 column colour blocks all primary
In the second example below, the dark theme has been chosen for the first and third items, and the light theme has been selected for the middle item.
As you can see a large variety of combinations are possible.

Adding extra content items
You can add any number of items up to a maximum of twelve. The system will automatically resize the items as necessary - you don't need to do any extra steps beyond adding (or deleting) an item.
If you add three individual items, they will automatically form a single three-column row:
3 block row
If you add four individual items, they will automatically form a two column row.
Remember if you add a fourth single item to your already created three column row then this will become two rows of two automatically:
4 items
Changing the order of content items
You have the choice to change the order of the items as you are not limited to a set configuration. For example, the Twitter feed could go in the middle, or at the start of the row:
