The future of aircraft cabin design with Tobias Mayer,Expert Cabin Branding & Functional Design at Airbus

In this lecture Tobias gives an overview of current activities on the Airbus cabin design and how digitalization is and will influence a cabin brand perception and our travel experience.How Airbus set up a working environment enabling a company transformation to explore new opportunities.

 

Tobias Mayer studied Transportation Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich.

He gained experience at Audi, Honda and Freelance work. Since 2005 Tobias was working in the Industrial Design Department at the Airbus Cabin Innovation & Design Centre in Hamburg.

He´s responsible for both advanced design studies same as current cabin designs.

In his role as Expert for Cabin Branding and Functional Design he also guides R&T projects, takes care of knowledge transfer with in the domains and also external bodies.

 He creates future cabin design concepts for potential next-gen aircrafts where he transforms sociological, economical and technological trends and scenarios into tangible visions. Furthermore he created a showcase displaying the bigger picture of Airbus role and possibilities on sustainability. He supports the Idea Generation team and supervises student-projects.
