Title: On the Ambrose–Singer theorem
Speaker: Nico Cavalleri
Abstract: The Ambrose–Singer theorem establishes an elegant link between the holonomy and the curvature of a connection, and thus helps us to understand in greater depth what these concepts mean. In this talk I will introduce the objects involved in the theorem in a slightly unconventional way without assuming much beyond basic familiarity with manifolds and bundles. Only at the end, I will state the theorem without proof.
Some snacks will be provided before and after the talk.
This is the last talk of the term. The seminar will resume on the 13th of January.
This talk will be broadcasted via Zoom. Subscribe to the mailing list or contact organisers to get the Zoom details.
