About the authors

Rafael Palacios is Director of the Brahmal Institute of Sustainable Aviation and the Professor of Computational Aeroelasticity at the Department of Aeronautics. He also leads the Load Control and Aeroelastics lab which investigates computational methods for dynamic analysis, control and optimisation of flexible air vehicles and offshore wind turbines. 

Carlos E. S. Cesnik is the Clarence L. (Kelly) Johnson Professor and Richard A. Auhll Department Chair of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan. His research interests include experimental aeroelasticity/aeromechanics, multi-physics modelling and structural health management.

About the speaker

Daniela Raveh is a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at TECHNION – Israel Institute of Technology and will chair the discussion. She is also the Sigmund Sommer Chair in Structural Engineering and her main research interest is the study of aeroelastic phenomena using high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics and structural finite-elements models.

The event will conclude with a Q&A session followed by a drinks reception (CAGB 309).
