Dr Jordan Minnell

Join us for the Autumn/Winter 2023 Series

of the St Mary’s Infection & Immunity Seminars (hybrid)

Bio:
Dr Jordan Minnell

I completed my PhD in the Section of Virology with Dr. Goedele Maertens in 2020. Soon afterwards, I moved back to New Zealand with my young family and am now working as a Research Fellow at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research in Wellington. In this role I have been designing mRNA vaccines that are specialized in driving CD8+ tissue resident memory T cell (Trm) responses in the liver. This immunophenotype is important in the control of many hepatic diseases, including malaria infection. I will present our recent work on the development of a vaccine candidate that is protective against malaria infection in preclinical challenge models.
