The Chemical Kitchen is an original, interdisciplinary laboratory aimed at introducing students to the mindset and basic skills needed in a chemical laboratory (and kitchen!). Students will learn practical lab skills, planning, creativity, precision, dexterity, making and recording observations, and the application of knowledge through the guise of culinary experiments. During this workshop, we will showcase the multidisciplinary teaching and students will learn how to make cheese from scratch using only milk and citric acid, and then turn it into a delicious cheesecake with their creativity and a choice of molecular gastronomy-based recipes.
