Countdown to COP29: Raising Global Ambition on the Road to Baku

Countdown to COP29: Raising Global Ambition on the Road to Baku

Co-hosted by the Grantham Institute – Climate Change and the Environment and the Delegation of the European Union to the UK

Following the commitments made at COP28 last December, governments worldwide now have a vital role to play in ensuring the next round of national climate plans significantly scale up action to deliver on the Paris agreement and that no one is left behind in the transition to a decarbonised, resilient future.

Taking place midway between COP28 and COP29, this event will bring together climate negotiators, policy experts, and scientists to discuss what steps are needed to ensure that countries deliver an ambitious set of national plans and what key issues need to be addressed at COP29 in Baku to unlock meaningful action to limit global temperature rise and to address the impacts of a changing climate.
