CSEP inaugural conference on UK economic growth

ABOUT

Imperial’s new Centre for Sectoral Economic Performance (CSEP) brings together the UK’s best engineers, scientists and economists with UK industry to co-design globally competitive sectoral strategies. CSEP teams are investigating ways of improving the competitiveness of the UK economy and driving growth through our existing and emerging technology-based sectors such as medtech, biopharmaceuticals, telecoms and data science, aerospace, tidal power and fine chemicals.

There are huge opportunities for these industries to generate real growth in the UK economy, but they also face challenges including rising global competition and regulatory barriers. Sectoral studies and strategies from CSEP will make recommendations to ensure the UK’s undeniable strengths in R&D translate into business growth and jobs.

The conference is an opportunity to underline the importance of collaboration between government, industry and academia to deliver a successful industrial strategy.
