Respire Diagnostics was founded by ShaoKai Hong (Biomedical Engineering graduate) and Dr. Danny Chen (PhD graduate). Respire Diagnostics completed Tech Transfer at Imperial College London (TRL4) and conducted two clinical studies with the National Heart and Lung Institute.
Their Next Generation ReDi (“Respire Diagnostics”) medical devices use exhaled breath to identify biomarkers, e.g. hydrogen heroxide, lactate and nitrites that correlate to diseases (COPD, asthma, sepsis) for patient identification and condition monitoring. They are currently working towards regulatory approval and aim to expand their sensor portfolio of potential biomarkers to target other diseases. They hope their devices will be the next generation of medical diagnostic tools.
