Ertug Ovur

S. Ertug Ovur obtained his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering and a second degree in Control and Automation Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (Turkey) with the best student rankings and graduated one year early than anticipated. During his BSc, he worked as a teaching and research assistant in the Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems Lab, where he developed multiple theses on the designing, manufacturing, sensing, and control of mobile robots.

He received his M.Sc. degree in Automation and Control Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) with a full score. He worked as part-time research and teaching assistant in NEARLAB's Medical Robotics Section during his two-year M.Sc and subsequently for a year as a full-time research collaborator. He used multi-sensor fusion to develop new frameworks for human-robot interaction and collaboration.

He is now pursuing a PhD in the field of improving safety and ergonomics in human-robot interaction through multimodal sensor fusion. His research is fully funded by President’s PhD Scholarships.
