The Quantum Devices Lab primarily focuses on quantum devices built from hybrid superconductor-semiconductor materials (“super-semis"). Super-semis promise new functionalities, combining the simplicity and long-range coherence of microwaves routed around millimetre-scale planar circuits with the rich bandstructure and field-effect tunability of semiconductors.
