HENON is a technology demonstration mission that will place a CubeSat in deep space, in a distant retrograde orbit of the Sun-Earth system. From this orbit, it will pass 0.1 au upstream of Earth, and provide a platform for the early warning of severe space weather conditions. Imperial is contributing instrumentation to the HENON payload to measure the interplanetary magnetic field, and is part of the science team.
Mission Summary
As part of HENON, Imperial College London will deliver a miniaturized magnetometer instrument, MAGIC, that builds on the success of the RadCube project.
