The Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) is developing a whole new centre and community for west London, using the investment in rail infrastructure projects HS2 and the Elizabeth Line to create new opportunities for people in the area.
The Corporation was officially launched in April 2015 by the Mayor of London. OPDC is the Local Planning Authority and regeneration agency for the 650 hectare site.
Imperial are excited and supportive of Old Oak and Park Royal - it is the single largest development opportunity in London, and ranks as one of the largest in the UK.
Together with the OPDC, we are developing a ‘West Tech’ theme that draws from activities across multiple boroughs from Westminster to Hounslow and Brent (with Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham at the centre) that builds a strong and meaningful cluster of research; start-ups, scale ups and corporates.
Through the White City Campus, we see ourselves as early adopters of this vision, whilst also playing an active role in bringing forward sustainable development in and around North Acton.
