The Digital Media Lab develops bespoke interactive and time-based learning experiences and solutions collaboratively that are rooted in Imperial’s research, people, curriculum, spaces, and values.

We approach our work not by starting with solutions or answers, but by asking key questions and looking for opportunities to better support students, learners, and colleagues. We like to start by understanding who our students are and how they learn, and to use our skills and resources to help meet their needs. Our aim is to make experiences more accessible to learners on campus and to those learning remotely, to enrich content, and to find solutions that are both efficient and impactful.

As a cross-disciplinary team, we offer a range of tested solutions, rather than a single, one-size-fits-all approach. Working closely with academics, educators, and professional services staff, we emphasise the importance of collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving in delivering high-quality learning experiences and media.  We value diverse expertise and perspectives from within and beyond our institution, and are always looking to challenge and stretch ourselves.

Ultimately, the DML is committed to improving the intersection of higher education and creative industries, ensuring that our work is not just about audio-visual excellence but also about the impact of what we create.
