ACERS-UK

Join ACERS-UK on Tuesday 17 September to learn more about the team and their FGM research and campaign. ACERS-UK is a voluntary collective of FGM experts advocating for research into reconstruction surgery and psychosexual support for FGM survivors, Their aim is to establish a national FGM reconstruction service through stakeholder consultation, evidence publication, and parliamentary advocacy.

Have your say on proposals to create an East-West Link connecting White City and North Kensington

Imperial College London is pleased to share its proposals to create a new public link beneath the West London Railway Line at White City. The East-West Link will create a new pedestrian and cycle connection between White City and North Kensington, opening up a direct route and linking the two communities together. It will improve access through better walking and cycling connections.

Imperial is keen to share the proposals with the local community and are therefore holding a series of public consultation events across the two boroughs on Tuesday 16 September, Wednesday 17 September and Thursday 18 September.

Agents of Change celebration and networking event

On Tuesday 24 September The Invention Rooms will be hosting a celebration of the past, present and future of our women's leadership programme Agents of Change.

The evening will also feature information about a new collaboration between Agents of Change and Westfield. The Westfield Workshop Skills Sessions have been created exclusively for members of the Agents of Change Network. Running throughout October, this series of workshops have been designed to develop the skills needed to tackle social media, marketing pitches, negotiation and standing out in your job search.

Signing up to the Agents of Change network is free and you'll be the first to hear about training and development opportunities as well as early access invitations to our events. You can sign up to the Agents of Change network using this online form.

Introducing the Collaboration Kickstarter: A seed fund for engaged research with communities

Imperial College London’s Public Engagement team are pleased to announce the Collaboration Kickstarter, a new approach to seed funding research. This pilot project, launching 25 September, aims to support Imperial researchers and community partners to deliver research collaboratively.
 
Awarding funds of up to £10,000 to a small portfolio of projects, the Kickstarter will support participatory and co-produced approaches to research in which communities can influence the direction that research is taking. The fund will be open to Expressions of Interest from Imperial researchers as well as from community organisations from the 25 September until 25 November, with full proposals required in early January 2025.
