Wezzie Grace Bandah

Wezzie is a PhD student at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences in Malawi. Her work focuses on modelling the cost-effectiveness of chlorfenapyr long lasting
insecticidal nets (LLINs) and the financial cost insecticide resistance. At Imperial, Wezzie was hosted in the School of Public Health.

Moussa Kane

Moussa's work at the University of Dakar in Senegal focuses on malaria epidemiology and control in Senegal, which experiences low- transmission in the north and centre of the country, and high-transmission in the south. He was hosted in Imperial's School of Public Health.

Mamadou Pathe Ly

Mamadou is a PhD student at Gaston Berger University of St. Louis in Senegal. His work looks at integral evolution systems, known as integrodifferential systems, studying both quantitative and qualitative properties of these equations, such as non-locality and impulsivity, delay, existence, stability, controllability, and optimal control. At Imperial, he was hosted in the Department of Mathematics.

Christine Achiaa Moore

Christine is a current PhD student at the University of Ghana. Her work is working to demonstrate that phenolic compounds - a class of natural plant-derived
chemical substances - are effective at inhibiting parasite growth by chelating iron, an essential mineral for growth of both the insect-stage and blood-stage of Leishmania and trypanosome parasites. She was hosted by the Department of Life Sciences.

Nne Michael Pepple

Nne's work at the University of Nigeria focuses on specific type of organic compounds, namely acylthioureas and their derivatives with metals such as Copper, Cobalt and Platinum. By developing efficient synthetic methods and understanding the molecular structures, she aims to consider their potential
applications in of cancer treatment. At Imperial, Nne was hosted by the Department of Chemistry.

Flavia Kaduni Bawa

Flavia is a PhD student at the University of Ghana. Her work aims to evaluate a new test for the cause of fever in African children through the use of digital diagnostics tools. At Imperial, Flavia was hosted by the Department for Infectious Disease.

2023 - 24 Fellows

With the support of their supervisor in their home country and a host supervisor at Imperial, during the 2023-24 academic year, 32 students from 16 countries including Sri Lanka, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo undertook a variety of placements in all four of Imperial’s faculties.
