Employers can use JobsLive to advertise vacancies including graduate positions, casual/part-time roles, internships and placements, as well as insight schemes and studentships, scholarships and awards. Registered charities may also post voluntary work opportunities. All vacancies are exclusively open to Imperial students and graduates, as well as postdoctoral staff. Job vacancies may be advertised for positions that are based in the UK and in the rest of the world (please see guidance on minimum wage in the Salary requirements section below).
All vacancies will be reviewed by a member of the Careers team before being published. We reserve editorial control over the published information and the right to withdraw any content which is deemed as not suitable to Imperial students and/or graduates.
Advertising on JobsLive is free of charge if recruiting on behalf of your own organisation.
Recruitment agencies - Unfortunately, we do not offer our services to recruitment agencies.
Third parties - If you are a third party who has been instructed to carry out the graduate/internship recruitment on behalf of an employer, then you can post your opportunities via JobsLive. However, please post the vacancies using the name of your client rather than your company name. Applications can still be sent through to yourselves, but the vacancy must be under your client's name.

- Vacancies requiring applicants to work in a private household are not accepted;
- All vacancies must be submitted in English;
- Vacancies may cover several occupational areas, as long as they are relevant to the role posted;
- Opportunities which involve a payment from the applicants will not be accepted;
- Vacancies must only advertise one role - if, for example, you are running multiple grad schemes in various departments, each scheme requires its own listing;
- Vacancies will not be accepted via email or by post;
- Vacancies requiring a photograph to be submitted as part of the application will not be accepted;
- All vacancies for the UK must be compliant with the Equality Act 2010;
- All vacancies must clearly state how applicants should apply, e.g. 'with a CV and/or cover letter and/or portfolio etc.' or 'online through the link provided'.
- JobsLive advertisements must comply with the National Minimum Wage Act 1998. From 1 April 2024, the minimum wage is set at:
- £11.44 an hour for workers aged 21 and over;
- £8.60 an hour for workers aged 18 to 20;
- £6.40 an hour for workers aged 16 to 17;
- £6.40 an hour for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over who are in the first year of apprenticeship.
- The following exceptions to the above will be allowed:
- Unpaid work will be advertised if it is for a registered charity;
- Unpaid work will be advertised if it represents a work shadowing opportunity. Work shadowing opportunities cannot involve any kind of structured work or attendance requirements that could be construed as a contract.
- For job vacancies that are advertised outside the UK, we recommend that national minimum wages apply for countries where advertised. We strongly advise students to research what this is (we recommend GoinGlobal).
- While not mandatory, the Careers Service recommends that employers pay the Real Living Wage. This is £12.00 in London and £13.15 everywhere else in the UK.
- Commission-based roles will only be accepted if a salary meeting the National Minimum Wage is also offered.
- Roles offering equity – to comply with UK law, the role must still pay a wage, based on the National Minimum Wage. If there is only equity, we will not be able to advertise the vacancy.
The Careers Service reserve the right to reject any vacancies that are in direct conflict with the university's academic aims and mission or those organisations which are deemed unsuitable for promotion to our students and recent alumni. This includes but is not limited to: Organisations or opportunities suspected to be illegal, oppressive, exploitative or discriminatory.
