Course Overview
This course is designed to elevate your language skills to post-beginners level. Focusing on increasingly complex grammar, vocabulary expansion, and deeper cultural insights, the course enables you to engage in increasingly complex conversations, enhance your writing skills, and gain a better understanding of Korean society and culture.
By the end of the course, students will be able to engage in detailed spoken and written everyday conversations on various topics including daily life, hobbies, current events and contemporary social issues using more complex grammatical structures and expressions.
Required Previous Experience (if any)
You should have completed the imperial after:hours Korean 2 course or have equivalent experience.
Required Reading Material or Special Equipment Needed (if any)
None required.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course you will be better prepared to:
- utilise noun/adjective/verb-modifying forms and make use of relative clauses and conjunctions;
- understand and use Korean honorifics and speech levels;
- use advanced vocabulary for describing events;
- show increased proficiency in use of vocabulary and expressions related to work and life.
Teaching and Learning Approach
The teaching and learning approach for this course combines tutor-led instruction, group activities, and independent study supported by individual guidance from the tutor. Classes are conducted face-to-face in a classroom setting and utilise diverse teaching methods, including presentations, multimedia resources, class discussions, and interactive activities.
