Gardening is a creative hobby that can be enjoyed by everyone, whether or not you have access to your own outdoor space.

The therapeutic and physical advantages to being in nature are well-documented and gardening even for a short time each week can provide lasting benefits.

But where to begin?

On this course we invite you to joing horticulturalist Sarah Foss to explore all the elements you need to become a confident and successful gardener.

Each session we will cover a different topic, ranging from pruning and pest management to garden design and propagating your own plants, mixing classroom work with practical activities in Imperial's little known 'secret garden'.

Over the weeks Sarah will explain the hows and whys of gardening, and unlock many tricks of the trade used by professional gardeners, to help you fully enjoy your creative pastime and be a successful gardener.

Ideal for novice or more experienced hobby gardeners or those interested in exploring the possibilities of further qualifications, this is the course to get you started.

No previous experience of gardening is necessary and everyone is welcome.
