Change Makers modules received very positive evaluations from students across the year groups and through all the feedback channels.
Teaching
We were pleased to see that students scored the modules highly in all categories on the I-Explore evaluation. Students gave particular praise for the positive and supportive approach of the teaching staff, noting their helpfulness and ‘kind’ style. This aligned with the feedback received from the students via their representatives at the Staff-Student Committee and through the MEQ. For instance, one student reported that the ‘lecturer was amazing and very kind and helpful with really good feedback.’
Creative thinking and skills
Students also scored the Change Makers modules especially well on creative thinking, criticality and broadening perspectives - averaging higher than four out of five for these categories. Again, this was supported by comments gathered by Student Reps, particularly those related to creativity. These noted the space to work in a different way and at a different pace. One module was positively described as a ‘breath of fresh air from studying my course’.
Reflective practice
Students were appreciative of the opportunities to reflect and choose their own learning pathways. For instance, a comment noted how there was ‘lots of time, opportunity and prompts to self-reflect and make a change’. In some modules these opportunities could be expanded further. Following feedback, the potential to choose from a wider range of case studies will be offered to students in second-year case study focused modules. In addition, more opportunities for reflective practice will be brought into those existing modules that currently offer less.
In conclusion, we will therefore continue in a similar vein where we have received strongly positive feedback, and building on our strengths, we will offer more opportunities for choice and reflection where possible.
