During evenings and weekend the South Kensington car park is open to the public on a chargeable basis
Car parking arrangements over the Festive period
The car parking office will be closed from 16.00 on 20 December 2024 and will reopen at 08.00 on 2 January 2025.
All requests for this period, as detailed, must be sent to car.park@imperial.ac.uk, and received no later than NOON on Thursday 19 December 2024. These requests will be added onto the ANPR system. Requests received after the deadline will not be actioned.
Please note:
- South Kensington car park will remain open to college Staff, TAs, Postgraduates students and members of the public throughout the Christmas Period.
- Between 07.00 to 18.00 on Saturday 21st December 2024 to Wednesday 1 January 2025 between people that wish to use the car park must show their valid College ID card on entry and must be the driver of the vehicle the period. Parking is on a first come first served basis.
- Weekend car parking rules apply for members of the public wishing to use the South Kensington car park for weekends 21/22 December and the 28/29 December 2024.
- Overnight car parking for the Christmas Closure period must be sent to car.park@imperial.ac.uk by no later than NOON on Thursday 19 December 2024. Normal overnight car parking fees apply.
- Car parking requests for week commencing Monday 30 Dec 2024, must be received by no later than NOON on Thursday 19 December 2024.
- The normal car parking process for bookings will resume on 2 January 2025 and requests for week commencing 6 January 2025, should be sent to car parking by Friday 3 January 2025.
Car park regulations
Use of College car parking facilities is subject to agreement to these terms and conditions.
When can I park?
Outside office hours:
- Monday to Friday – 18.00 to 00.00 hours (midnight).
- Saturday and Sunday – 07.00 to 00.00 hours (midnight).
Overnight parking is not permitted.
No one will be permitted to enter the car park outside the hours stated above.
Can I book?
No bookings are taken. We operate as a normal public car park outside of office hours, so spaces are subject to availability.
What vehicle can I park?
Parking is only available for cars. There are no facilities for minibuses or large vehicles to park.

Electric vehicle charging
Electric vehicle charging is free for the first 30 minutes. A rate of £3 per hour is applicable after this.

I am visiting the Royal Albert Hall
If you are visiting the Royal Albert Hall parking should be reserved through them when you book your event.
Car park booking with the Royal Albert Hall is strictly outside of office hours:
- Monday to Friday – 18.30 to 00.00 hours (midnight).
- Saturday and Sunday – 07.00 to 00.00 hours (midnight).
