Accessibility Pledge – Events Technical Team
As a commitment to providing more inclusive events across college, our accessibility pledge outlines technical support available to improve the accessibility for all our attendees of events (in-person & virtual).
We pledge to supply:
Hearing Aid Loop
Cost: Free
Use: For any event with sound provided by our team, a dedicated hearing aid loop can be supplied. Let our booking team know you’d like this adding on. Most our lecture theatres have hearing aid loop pre-installed, in this case, you don’t need to book.
Live Captioning (Subtitles)
Cost: Equipment Free of Charge + Live captioner costs
Use: For any event booked with the Events Technical team, we will supply a laptop & interface with the live captioner, who will remotely type the captions real-time. The captions can be installed on dedicated screen for captioning, included at the bottom of your presentation screen as a subtitle and outputted onto a virtual stream (such as YouTube).
