As part of our ongoing efforts to improve, we want to ensure that all members of our community feel respected. This includes making sure that everyone has access to clear information about our Halal options on campus, which we are working towards by increasing accessible signage.
We understand the importance of preventing cross-contamination between Halal and non-Halal food items. Our staff are trained to handle food safely, and all utensils used to cut and prepare food are thoroughly sanitised between uses. We recognise the need to continuously reinforce these practices to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
Our commitment to sustainability means that we are in the process of exploring new meat suppliers. As we continue to work toward sourcing more sustainable food options, we will ensure that any changes to our products, including Halal compliance, are clearly communicated.
Halal food options on campus
Sandwiches: We are pleased to announce that all of our sandwiches are Halal certified. The Halal certification is available for review here. This certification assures that the products we offer meet Halal standards.
The SCR (Senior Common Room Restaurant): In the SCR, any Halal options will be clearly marked on the blackboard above the counter, ensuring that you can make informed decisions about your meals.
The Loud Bird: All chicken served at The Loud Bird is Halal.
