Guidance on the use of images
Managers and organisers of events involving children should review and follow the relevant University guidance if they will be creating, sharing and storing images of children Consent and permissions
There are particular risks in the publication of images of children, for example if the picture is shared alongside identifiable information or if the image is copied and manipulated. Each image becomes part of a child’s digital footprint, and it is essential that they are aware that photography is taking place and can refuse this, without compromising their opportunity to participate in the activity. For children under the age of 13, explicit consent for images to be taken must be obtained from the parent/guardian.
