Borrowing a laptop
The Abdus Salam Library has 36 laptops for Imperial students to borrow for up to 4 hours. You may only borrow one laptop at a time.
Use your Imperial ID card to borrow a laptop from the laptop cabinet in the Guest PC Access room next to the Information Hub. Each time you borrow you will be asked to agree to the terms of use. You will not be able to borrow a laptop without your ID card.
Laptops may be used on the South Kensington campus, just log in with your Imperial username and password. Remember to save your work to your home directory as all data will be wiped on return.
We are unable to supply laptop chargers. To ensure laptops remain charged and are updated please plug in the cables carefully.
In the event of non-return, you will be charged £650.00 for a replacement plus a £30.00 administration charge and the details of your debt may be passed to Imperial's Finance Department. Charges for damage may also apply, please report any damage or faults to library staff.

Borrowing an iPad
The Library has a number of iPads for Imperial students to borrow for up to 2 weeks.

You can borrow iPads during staffed desk opening hours, check Our libraries for details.
You can only renew and return iPads at the the library from which they were borrowed, in-person, during staffed hours.
If you do not return an iPad you will be charged for complete replacement at a cost of £370.00 plus a £30.00 administration charge. Other charges for broken and lost parts apply.
Library iPads come pre-installed with a small number of apps. In addition you may download other pre-approved apps from the iPad App catalog.
