How to register
Natural History Museum staff / Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) staff / Science Museum staff
Complete the online library membership application form selecting ‘local institution’. After completing the form visit the Welcome Desk at the Abdus Salam Library. You will need to show one of the required forms of identification and proof of your current status at your home institution.
Your membership allows access to the Abdus Salam Library. You may use the campus libraries by appointment for the consultation of specific items.
Royal College of Music staff and students
Undergraduate and taught postgraduate students - apply as above.
Staff and PhD students - apply for SCONUL Access band A membership via the Royal College of Music.
Royal College of Art staff and students
Taught postgraduate students - complete the 'RCA Access to Imperial Library' form found under ‘Using Other Libraries’ on the RCA Moodle page, then complete the online library membership application form, selecting ‘local institution’. After completing the form visit the Welcome Desk at Abdus Salam Library with your RCA student ID card.
Staff and PhD students - apply for SCONUL Access band A membership via the Royal College of Art Library.
Borrowing
You may borrow:
A total of 5 items from the Abdus Salam Library for 1 week.
We will automatically renew your items for up to 6 months before they must be returned for re-issue, unless they have been requested.
If an item is recalled you will need to return it by the due date. The Library charges fines on recalled items.
Requests
Sign in to Library Search to request an item which is out on loan. We will email you when it is available for collection. Your request limit is 3 at one time.
Using online resources
Your access to online resources is limited only to those permitted by the terms of our licences and only available within the Library. Their use is strictly for non-commercial purposes and you must adhere to licence restrictions.
