Its predecessor was the Department of Chemical Engineering (established c1953/54), which had itself previously been known as the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Physical Chemistry, and prior to that as the Department of Chemical Technology.??? The Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology is interested in the science and engineering relevant to the technology of the process industries.
