Bio

Nick is a postgraduate research student in the Bioengineering Dep. at BICI lab, where he is currently pursuing an MRes in Neurotechnologies. He received his Bachelor's degree in Genetics from Swansea Medical School, with a specialization in computational and statistical methods in biomedicine. He later completed an MSc in Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology from Imperial College London, with a focus on stochastic theoretical models of biological processes and Artificial Neural Networks.  Nick's current research focuses on investigating neuro-inspired hierarchical models for robotic learning optimization, with the goal of bridging the structures of the biological brain with complex behaviors in robotic systems. His work has important implications for the development of generalizable AI systems and practical applications to real-world problems.
