Sanford DeLand Asset Management Limited (SDL) is an independent investment management company, established in 2010 by Keith Ashworth-Lord with the support of a group of businessmen and financiers. The Chairman is Ian Page, the CEO of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC, and Keith Ashworth-Lord is the Managing Director. For FSA regulatory purposes, SDL is an Appointed Representative of Castlefield Investment Partners LLP, a Manchester-based investment house.

SDL has an exclusive 10-year licence to use the trade mark ‘Buffettology’ in the UK & Ireland for fund management. The Licensors are Mary Buffett and David Clark, authors of the seminal ‘Buffettology’ series of investment books about Warren Buffett’s investment style.

Keith is a career professional with over 30 years’ equity capital markets experience in investment analysis, fund management and corporate finance. The flagship fund which he manages is the Premier Sanford DeLand UK Buffettology Fund. The guiding principle is the philosophy of Business Perspective Investing – acknowledged as one of the most successful long-term investment strategies associated in particular with Warren Buffett and other disciples of Benjamin Graham.

We believe that risk is economic based. Real risk comes from investing in the wrong businesses not share price volatility. So, we favour concentrating investments in relatively few companies that much is known about. Two other differentiating factors are that we conduct all our own research and invest our own capital alongside our clients so that we make money with our clients, not off them.

In managing the Fund, the emphasis is on the long-term, i.e. an investment horizon of five to ten years. Building long-term value for our shareholders and clients alike depends on one thing: performance.
