Information on Electives 2024-25

Alumni from any of Imperial College Business School's postgraduate programmes can request to join these electives. 

  • All electives are subject to availability as places are limited and priority for spaces are given to current students. An increase of student numbers and return to in-person teaching has resulted in spaces being reduced.  
     
  • As electives are entirely on-campus, there are a maximum of two electives per year and one per term. We will let you know within two working days if you have been accepted or waitlisted for an elective. Acceptance is based on a first come, first serve basis. If you are accepted, you will need to confirm your attendance and pay if applicable within two working days. If you fail to do so, your place will be lost, and we will move through the waitlist.  
     
  • There are no recordings available for any electives and readings are not available for most electives.  
     
  • You may be allocated into a group for in-class group simulations and other group work. 
     
  • You will submit no coursework for marking and will receive no formal or informal accreditation for completing an elective.  
     
  • There will be another opportunity to take part in summer electives, running from April-July 2025. Information and registrations of interest open in March 2025.

Fees

Standard fee: 

  • £800: This is the standard alumni rate per electives

Concessions:

  • £200: recent graduates (alumni who completed their studies in 2021 to 2024)
  • Free: EMBA (alumni from the Executive MBA may attend one elective for free*) 

*Any additional elective will be charged at the normal rate
