The impact of banking regulation on financial markets

6th and 7th September 2017

This conference seeks to attract theoretical and empirical contributions examining the various effects of the regulatory rules enacted after the 2008 financial crisis. In particular, we aim to enhance our understanding of the consequences – both intended and unintended – of the Basel III standards and compliance supervision on the market structure of the banking sector.

The conference aims to bring together leading academics, representatives of the Basel Committee member organisations, other central bankers and bank supervisors, and market participants.

Call for Papers

Preference will be given to complete papers, but preliminary drafts are also welcome. Interested parties should submit their draft papers and any queries to Martin Birn of the Basel Committee’s Secretariat at Martin.Birn@bis.org. The submission deadline is Thursday 15 June 2017. Contributors will be notified by the end of July 2017. The Basel Committee will contribute toward the cost of academic speakers’ travel and accommodation expenses. Further information on the conference can be found here.
