Professor Franklin Allen
Professor of Finance and Economics and Director of the Brevan Howard Centre
Before joining Imperial, Franklin was the Nippon Life Professor of Finance and Professor of Economics at the Wharton School. Franklin was also Co-Director of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center. He was formerly Vice Dean and Director of Wharton Doctoral Programs, Executive Editor of the Review of Financial Studies and Managing Editor of the Review of Finance.
Franklin is a past President of the American Finance Association, the Western Finance Association, the Society for Financial Studies, the Financial Intermediation Research Society and the Financial Management Association, and a Fellow of the Econometric Society. He received his doctorate from Oxford University. His main areas of interest are corporate finance, asset pricing, financial innovation, comparative financial systems, and financial crises. He is a co-author with Richard Brealey and Stewart Myers of the eighth through 12th editions of the textbook Principles of Corporate Finance.
Jas Gill
Centre Manager
Jas joined Imperial College Business School in 2014 as Centre Manager for the newly established Brevan Howard Centre, as well as the Risk Lab and the Finance group. She manages all the major events organised by the Brevan Howard Centre, liaises directly with external contacts and helps to develop new relationships with external partners.
Jas has worked for several top London universities, including London Business School. She is fluent in spoken and written Punjabi
Erik Chavez
Research Fellow
Erik is a research fellow at the Brevan Howard Centre for Financial Analysis at the Finance Department of Imperial College Business School. His research activity focuses in the areas of climate dynamics, risk modelling. He has worked for 6 years as a short-term consultant of the Agricultural Risk Management Team at the World Bank. He completed his Ph.D. in climate dynamics and economics between Imperial College London and the ENS Paris (Ecole Normale Supérieure).
Jeanine Baumert
Research Associate
Jeanine Baumert is a Research Associate at the Brevan Howard Centre for Financial Analysis at Imperial College Business School. She is currently working on issues relating to blockchain governance. Before joining Imperial, Jeanine was a Post-Doc at the Quantitative Finance Research Group at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa after completing her PhD at the European University Institute in Florence. Jeanine has also work experience in Investment Banking as a derivatives structurer for one of the major US investment banks.
Senanayak Sesh Kumar Karri (Sesh)
Research Fellow in Machine Learning
Senanayak Sesh Kumar Karri (Sesh) is interested in applying modern day machine learning to Finance data. He is working on learning trading rules from tick-by-tick data. He is also keen to apply it other fields of finance.
