Extended term
Enhanced flexibility for your programme
We are delighted to offer an optional extended term for our on-campus Master’s programmes and Full-Time MBA programme. This flexible option will allow you to extend your programme duration to 16 months, providing the opportunity to commit to a longer Work Placement or Global Exchange (available for select programmes).
Opportunities of the Extended term
- Extended Global Exchange: For students in the MSc in Management (MiM) and Full-Time MBA programmes, the extended term also offers the chance to undertake an Extended Global Exchange. This provides an enhanced international study experience at one of Imperial’s partner schools, broadening your cultural and academic perspectives
- Access to a broader range of work placement opportunities: Many employers in the UK and worldwide offer longer internship durations, which can be particularly advantageous for gaining comprehensive work experience. By committing to an Extended Work Placement, you can develop deeper work experience credentials, significantly boosting your marketability with potential future employers.
- Thriving in the European market: Europe's robust internship market, where many internships serve as a pathway to full-time job offers, allows you to capitalise on these opportunities through the extended term, positioning yourself for a smoother transition into the workforce. Additionally, employers in Europe often view internships as a critical step in the hiring process, and by participating in longer internships, you can demonstrate your commitment and capabilities, making you a more attractive candidate for future roles.
- Additional academic credits: By earning additional credits, you can enhance your academic profile, which is particularly valued by employers in Europe. This can further differentiate you in the competitive job market.
