Imperial academic is recognised by the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic

Business School academic Dr Paolo Taticchi has been made a “Cavaliere” by the Italian honours system.

Dr Taticchi was recognised for his research on performance measurement and management, business networks and corporate sustainability and the impact of his international projects with businesses and governments. He was also acknowledged for his “contribution to enhancing British-Italian relations” in the business education world.

The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic is the equivalent of the UK’s honours system. Awards are made to individuals who have made an important contribution to the nation in the fields of literature, the arts, economics, public service, social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities and for achievements in military careers.

Commenting on his award Dr Taticchi said: “I’m delighted to have been recognised with this award and would like to thank my family, colleagues and friends who have supported me throughout my career.

“I’m delighted to be acknowledged for the work I’ve been doing to help businesses from all over the world become more sustainable and to support the Business School’s efforts to train students and managers to take better business decisions. It seems that the numerous global initiatives I have been part of over the years in Italy, the UK and the US have made an impact. I’m very proud of that and thankful to all my colleagues who were involved in these projects.”

Italian Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta, who presented Dr Taticchi with his award at the Italian Embassy in London, said: “Dr Taticchi is receiving this important award from the Italian Republic in recognition of the academic merit of his work and his contribution to British-Italian relations. Even while working in the UK, he has maintained professional links with Italy. His support for the work of the local institutions in London is also commendable.”

Dr Taticchi is the Programme Director of the Global Online MBA and the Director of Global Initiatives. He has experience of teaching in 14 countries and advises organisations in Italy, UK, Canada and India. In 2018, he was named among the world’s top 40 business academics under the age of 40 by education title Poets & Quants.
