Imperial Business School is inviting organisations to collaborate with our talented MSc students through the MSc Group Consulting Projects taking place this summer. This unique opportunity offers organisations fresh perspectives, data-driven insights, and strategic recommendations — all without any consulting fees.

The programme welcomes projects from businesses of all sizes, spanning from startups to multinational corporations, across diverse industries such as consulting, energy, fast-Moving Consumer Goods, technology, media, telecommunications, finance, healthcare and not-for-profit organisations.

James Eteen, Academic Director of MSc Management and Senior Teaching Fellow, said: "Our MSc Consulting Projects offer businesses a unique opportunity to collaborate with talented students, demonstrating how academic excellence combined with practical insight can drive high-impact outcomes. Through these projects, a team of MSc students delivers tailored recommendations based on research for a business challenge identified by the client."

"Organisations benefit from working closely with the next generation of business leaders - driven individuals who bring curiosity, analytical rigour, and strong commercial awareness to real-world issues.” - James Eteen.

Lasting value for businesses

Participating companies will work with a dedicated team of five to seven MSc students, who spend four to five weeks (June–July 2025) on delivering tailored, research-backed solutions. Companies can access a range of student expertise from the eight programmes offered. Projects can be completed in-person, remotely, or in a hybrid format to suit your organisation’s needs.

Anu Jain, Senior Consultant, EY (MSc International Health Management 2019-20) had the opportunity to participate in the programme and reflected: “The assignment students worked on for EY was focused on developing a thought leadership article on interoperability issues within the NHS, and we had some truly engaging discussions with the students. This type of business development initiative is a common part of a consultant’s work, and it was impressive to see how quickly the students were able to dive into such a complex topic and grasp its nuances."

Solving for real-world challenges

Students are particularly keen to tackle challenges in areas such as data analytics, process improvement, marketing strategies, innovation, and business development. Whether you are looking to optimise operations, explore new markets, or develop entrepreneurial ventures,

A former consultant himself, James recognised the value of integrating a unique partnership for students and businesses alike. He said: “By aligning project objectives with the specific skill sets of our students, we match business needs and academic expertise. Successful past projects range from developing business and marketing strategies to evaluating the impact of emerging technologies. Our student teams seek to deliver real-world solutions for diverse industries such as Consulting, Healthcare, Technology and more. Year-after-year we are proud to champion new partnerships and collaborations.”

Organisations that have participated in the past often remark that the recommendations rival those of professional consulting firms — with the added benefit of connecting to a future pipeline of business leaders.

Submit your project brief here by the close of Wednesday 23 April 2025 to work with Imperial’s brightest minds. This is your chance to participate in a strategic, no-cost way to solve your business challenges that can spark meaningful business impact.
